Analytics don't always get a good rap in baseball. Sure, there are numerical benefits: They help managers and scouts track players for deals and manufacture opportunities that would have required more nurturing in the past. But to baseball purists, analytics can seem like nothing more than a hack, destroying the humanity of the game. Numbers and equations go in, and chemistry-less teams come out. But we'd like for you to put these notions aside for the moment to consider the upside of harnessing analytics to boost your player development and winning percentage. Read on for some baseball-friendly infographics that shed some serious light on the potential of analytics for your team.

Ted Williams once said, "The greatest name in American sports history is Babe Ruth, a hitter." Pretty cool statement coming from the guy who hit over .400 in the Big Leagues. Among other All-century players, Ted Williams used to talk about hitting the ball so hard and so good that he could smell the burn of how perfectly the ball made contact with the wood of his bat. Hank Aaron cracked the bat so hard over a row of trailers that bordered the outfield fence that Ted Williams came running out from the clubhouse wanting to know who it was that could make a bat sound that way when it struck a baseball. And the legends go on and on. The great hitters of the game must have something in common, and their peers and many young players have studied their swings and approaches for decades. We've rallied up a few simple answers from the greats to answer the question: what are some practical ways of hitting the ball harder, faster, and farther? Check out these hitting concepts below.

Yogi Berra once said, "90 percent of the game is half mental." Our man Yogi may not have been the best with the concept of percentages, but he knew a thing or two about the mental game of baseball. Recently our good friend Donnie Moore made a visit to speak to the Royals at Spring Training. With demonstrations of strength and motivational talks, he effectively releases tremendous amounts of drive and desire. Here you'll find some great content to sharpen your mental game, unlock your inner motivation, and discover how to draw out the best work ethic of your players.
